Matthew will give a Solo Classical Guitar Recital in the inspiring and atmopshperic setting of St Salvators Chapel as part of the University of St Andrew’s Summer Concert Series.
St Salvators Chapel is the medieval heart of the University of St Andrews, the Chapel is a rare and beautiful example of Late Gothic architecture. Founded in 1450 as a part of Bishop James Kennedy’s College of the Holy Saviour, the Chapel of St Salvator has had a long and varied history.
Matthew is one of the leading young guitarists of his generation and will perform a varied programme including an arrangement of J.S. Bach’s ‘Cello Suite No 1’, the Locatelli Variations by Bernhard Joachim Hagen and works by jazz guitarist Ralph Towner.
