I recently returned from the Cochabamba Guitar Festival in Bolivia where I opened the festival by opening the concert series with a programme dedicated to the music of Scotland & Ireland. During the festival I was part of the jury for the international competition and gave masterclasses and teaching to students on the course and children at a local music school. Playing at high altitude was an interesting challenge, although I had experienced it before in Peru it was quite different in Bolivia, drinking plenty Coca tea helped!
The young students who participated in the festival were from Bolivia, Peru and Chile and all had a great attitude towards studying music and hard work.
